Dan Blackburn
I’m the co-owner of Tula Organizational Wellness and Tula Yoga Wellness. In the nearly 3 decades as an award-winning leader at Whole Foods Market, I led highly successful business units by developing strong diverse teams and helping them work well with each other. As an Executive Leader I was responsible for stores internationally and across the Midwest. Passion for working with people is the cornerstone of my style. Setting goals, overcoming obstacles, celebrating the victories as well as the lessons and building strong, trusting relationships gives me great joy. I believe the way a team shows up daily is a direct reflection of their leader. I coach leaders and teams using empowerment to invite growth. I believe in getting buy-in, building consensus, and supporting people in their growth so they can support the teams they lead. My natural curiosity, humble playfulness and creativity allow me to serve people and teams in a way that honors their purpose and values. I’m a lifelong learner. Some of the tools I use in coaching and facilitation include “The Everything DiSC” and “The Five Behaviors” assessments and breath work, mindfulness and meditation as only SomaYoga Therapists can provide. SomaYoga training expanded my thinking beyond symptoms thinking and towards systems that embody the whole person, team and/or organization.
My wife Ann and I have been together for 30 years. Together we have 3 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren. We’ve built several businesses together including the Tula family. I’m an optimist with a sense of humor and welcome opinions that differ from mine. Those opinions create better understanding and stronger agreements. Curiosity along with a sense of play helps foster an environment of growth. I enjoy music, read a lot, hike, cook, ride bicycle and travel, including recently spending almost a month in Peru. I love speaking, facilitating experiential training, team building and helping people find their authentic vibrant self while living a life of purpose. Core values are at the center of everything I do, and I’ll ask you about yours. My style is supportive and complimentary even when I’m challenging.
Ann Blackburn
I own Tula Organizational Wellness and Tula Yoga & Wellness with my husband, Dan Blackburn. I have created, built, and operated three businesses, as well as consulted on other business start-ups and expansions. I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist, which gives me tools to support individuals, teams, and organizations in their resilience and growth. In Yoga Therapy we use mindfulness, breathing practices, therapeutic movement, and other practices to empower individuals toward improved health and well-being.
An individual’s health and wellbeing are vital to vibrant teams and organizations. We cannot avoid stress in our lives but we can learn how to be proactive vs reactive and be resilient vs depleted. We can teach individuals strategies to calm and retrain the nervous system to improve health and wellbeing. This approach creates a healthy foundation for creativity, vision, and growth.
